What is IPMX?
IPMX (Internet Protocol for Media Experience) is a set of open standards and specifications to enable the transport of compressed and uncompressed video, audio and data over IP networks. It includes provisions for control, copy protection, connection management and security.
Why do we need open standards?
- Leverage the technical expertise of the entire industry
- Reduce operational expenses by eliminating complex integration exercises
- Foster multivendor interoperability and plug-and-play technology adoption
- Avoid intellectual property dead ends that restrict deployment and market flexibility
- Enable media companies to exploit the economic and performance benefits of large and open markets
